Fellowship of the Wayfarers

The fellowship of the Wayfarers is a group of Christian people who have individually made a one-year commitment to growth in a specific area of their lives. They have accepted the discipline of introspection, they take the initiative to become searchers of God's plan for reaching their highest potential in service of God's Kingdom, they accept peer counseling and they agree through a ceremony of Christian Commitment to work for a minimum of one year in overcoming a specific deficiency.

This highly successful program was created in 1965 by leaders of the First United Methodist Church of Orange who saw a need for opportunities for the gradual discovering of our Lord in people's lives. They felt that within a camp atmosphere people could have a chance to grow, learn and discover some things about themselves and what it means to be growing Christians and how to start that process.
